Information Unlimited uses cookies for order processing and not for the gathering of any other type of information.

Information Unlimited records visits to our web pages. The information tells us where our visitors are coming from, charts their flow through our site, and tells us which links they follow when leaving. In addition, it records their server name, IP address, type of web browser, and time of visit.

All of the above information is commonly available and does not include any personal information about you.

Security Policy

But don't be mislead into believing that simply because a web site uses a "Secure Server"(indicated by a "LOCK" icon, green light, etc., in your web browser) that your credit card information is secure.

A "Secure Server" only encrypts the information while being transferred from your browser to the server. Once it reaches the "Secure Server" and is stored, your information can be read by anyone gaining access(legal or illegal) to that server.

The following was sent to me on 3/14/01:

Last Thursday (March 8th) the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation -- the FBI -- announced that the Windows NT and Windows 2000 Internet web servers belonging to at least 40 prominent eCommerce companies have been systematically broken into by Eastern European hackers. After having their private customer credit card data stolen, the companies were financially extorted under the threat of public disclosure of their customers' data. The above cannot happen when you order from Information Unlimited, as your credit card number is encoded by the shopping cart when sent and remains that way when received by the server. Only when the order is removed from the server is the number decoded for processing and remains decoded only on a computer NOT connected in ANY way to the internet.

Your greatest risk of credit card fraud is when you give your information over the telephone or hand your credit card to store clerks, etc..

We only ship to the billing address of the credit card to further eliminate the possibility of fraud.

Did you know that when a store swipes your credit card through its card reader to send your information to the bank, the information sent has NO encryption and it is sent over an UNSECURED telephone line?

All Product Returns
must obtain a return-of-goods number obtained from the factory by request in writing. Return must include a copy of sales slip showing proof of purchase. Return number must be on outside box. We do not accept returns on plans, parts, books, glass and neon products or attempted kits, special orders or requests made after 30 days. All returns are subject to restocking charge of 10 to 25% and will depend on item and condition.

All Defective Products
must be returned for repair before being considered for credit.
